My First Time Playing Hytale — It’s Awesome… Except the Underground Rats

Okay so I started playing Hytale and honestly it’s already super fun. It feels like one of those games where you say “I’ll play 20 minutes” and then suddenly it’s like midnight.

The best thing: the portal that takes you to the Ancient Village

The coolest part for me is that you have this portal and it kind of leads you to an Ancient Village. And the village is not just there to look pretty—you can trade there. I really like that because it makes it feel like you’re not just running around for no reason. You go out, you get stuff, and then you come back and trade like you’re actually doing something important.

There are soooo many biomes

Also, the world feels huge because there are a lot of biomes. Like you walk for a bit and it’s already different—new trees, new vibe, new colors, new everything. It makes exploring way more exciting because you always feel like you might find something cool in the next area.

Furniture is crazy (in a good way)

And the furniture… there’s so much furniture. I love that because I’m the type of player who wants my base to look nice, not just be a random box. You can actually make it look like a real place where someone lives, not like “I survived, that’s it.”

But… the underground rats are SO ANNOYING

Now the part that makes me mad: the underground rats. I don’t know what they are exactly but they drive me crazy. When I go underground, I want it to feel like “ooh scary cave adventure,” not “ugh not these rats again.” They pop out, they mess with you, and they just ruin the mood.

Like, I want to mine and explore and find cool stuff, not spend my whole time fighting rat squads like I’m the cave janitor.

Quick comparison with Minecraft

If you compare it to Minecraft, Minecraft is more like: you spawn, you punch trees, and you basically make your own goals. Hytale feels more like it’s giving you a path sometimes—like the portal and thevillage/trading part makes it feel more “adventure game” and less “do whatever forever.” Also, the furniture/building stuff feels more detailed right away, like it wants your base to look cool, not just be functional.
